7 Day Photography Challenge

I don’t normally do Tumblr challenges but being a photographer I feel like I should answer this one ;)

I might start answering more challenges that I stumble across so that I keep this blog a bit more active…

I know it’s taking me a bit longer than usual to get around to editing recent photographs and I just want to explain why as I’ve had some rather rude messages about it from idiots. 

Before Christmas I wasn’t at college. I’m repeating the year due to leaving when I slipped my disc last year and as a result had already completed the coursework from last term. This term I’m back at college and have to focus on that because, given that last year was the second time I’d had to leave due to illness, this is my last chance. Therefore favours I’ve done for people has to come after my coursework. If you want higher priority how about instead of bitching and moaning, which is only going to mean that I take even longer to edit the shots and make sure that I never do you any favours again, you try PAYING ME. This is my job after all and whilst I’m more than happy to help out people I think are doing good things by doing free work to support them I’m not going to sit and work my ass off for rude, ungrateful, egotistical, idiots. If you think this status is about you then you’re right because even though it wasn’t (it’s not about any one person in particular, just a general comment on people) you certainly fit the definition of egotistical so congratulations on being a prick :) Like I said, I’m more than happy to carry on doing what I do for the people who actually deserve it and it’s those people that are more than understanding about the fact that college and earning a living comes before favours. Just remember I don’t have to do everything that I do and a please and thank you goes a long way. You’re not doing me a favour by offering me free entry to shoot your night or by begging me for a TFP photoshoot, I could be spending that time earning money.

Right, now that’s all said I’ve got lots of exciting things coming up :) I’m actually really psyched to get started on my Final Major Project as my head is overflowing with ideas and it’ll be a nice change from what I’ve been doing over the past year. That’s all I’m saying about it for now though!

More damn apologies… My body sucks.

Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be able to shoot the upcoming events that I was scheduled to as yesterday I managed to hurt my back again. Whilst the pain is gradually easing off I still don’t want to risk damaging my body further and ending up back in the situation that I was in last year. It’s an ongoing problem (before you say “oh, not again…” :P), I have good days and bad days… I have been resting up and sleeping through the pain a lot as it’s been hard to focus on much else so apologies for the late responses to emails and the delay on putting recent work up, it’s hard to sit at my desk for long periods of time currently. Sorry and thank you for being understanding :)

Seriously tired, I have been spending far too much time looking at Lightroom lately. Currently going through all the photographs from My Ruin at White Rabbit and it’s taking forever! I can’t really complain though… Having to look at picture after picture of Tairrie B isn’t really all that bad ;)

Will be onto Resolution 242 at Ride photos next and then Skank n Stomp presents DAVE The Drummer at Voodoo Lounge. I’ve still got lots of photos of Jenivieve and Faye to go through as well ones from the shoot I did with Twiggy Von Lea for Mark Bosley Photography. Somehow need to find time to do college work as well… It’s not easy when you’re shooting pretty much constantly outside of college to juggle everything but I’ll try and figure it out, I’m staying positive!

This Thursday at White Rabbit is Top Billin’ presents Cyrus Malachi, I expect to see all you Plymouth hip hop heads there!

Lush chilled evening last night, I love it when Amy aka Miss Twiggy Von Lea comes to stay! Hopefully seeing her again for Skank n Stomp this weekend. Shooting the beautiful Faye Edwardes later today :) I’m enjoying not having to be in college this week and being able to actually be productive, it’s weird how studying what you love sucks out all your motivation for it at times.
